Afternoon Writing Workshops:

Join us for an afternoon of exercises to inspire and excite your writing

Do you need a boost to your writing, or a chance to get inspired and motivated?

Could a Foxes’ Retreat afternoon workshop be just what you need to energise your writing once more?

Do you find it easier to write things down when you are working them out, rather than talking things through?

Character Development

Have you got an idea for a character, but they still feel a little two dimensional?

Do you want to add credibility to your short stories, your poetry or to a novel?

Do you want to create characters with depth quickly?

Ernest Hemingway hit the note when he said,

When writing a novel a writer should create living people.”

A half day 1:1 workshop of Character Development techniques and exercises will give you a toolbox to develop characters for all types of writing and storytelling.

We will explore aspects of characterisation through a variety of short and longer writing exercises.

A fun and informal atmosphere with lots of productive writing taking place. Sharing of process welcomed. Sharing of writing content only if agreed ahead - no surprise requests to show your work!

*Online workshops run from 10 until 1230pm, with a short break, or from 130pm to 4pm, with a short break.

A limited number of dates are available for an investment of £125 each - please contact us for availability.

Writing for Wellbeing & Creativity:

  • Would you like to explore writing as a way of processing life experiences?

  • Do you write to collect ideas for later short stories, poetry or a novel?

  • Would you like to explore these ideas further, or get ideas on how to develop them?

You and I will meet for two to two and a half hours, for interactive writing exercises, created and led by Myszka.

Myszka is a psychotherapeutic counsellor, experienced in the holding of safe spaces for exploration. She is also a writer, working on her second novel, and a writing teacher of more than twenty years. These skills combine to allow a unique writing journey at each individual workshop.

Myszka creates a relaxed and informal atmosphere, using short and longer writing exercises, which encourages lots of productive writing to take place. The sharing of process is always welcomed. Sharing of the content of writing is a personal choice without any pressure - journaling is essentially private writing, and that is utterly respected within this space.
